Man brandishes gun, steals medicines from Canberra pharmacy

Police are on the hunt for a man who allegedly brandished a gun and robbed a chemist in Higgins last week.

About 11.10am on Thursday, February 26, ACT Policing said a man entered Advantage Chemist in Higgins and threatened staff with a firearm.

He demanded they give him medication and the staff complied. He took the medication and left the scene on a bicycle. No one was injured during the incident.

The offender is described as Caucasian and of solid build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a grey top, black pants and was carrying a black backpack, police said.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage from the vicinity of Fullagar Crescent in Higgins, between 10.50am and 11.20am on Thursday to come forward.

Anyone who can assist police should provide their contact details to Crime Stoppers via the Crime Stoppers ACT website by quoting reference number 8314171. Information can be provided anonymously.
